Isak Costello and Liz Pluimers Excel

Well done to all that took part in today's Toyota Hydrothon at Manly.

Excellent weather and surf conditions greeted the 65 competitors from 3 states.

19year old Isak Costello from Redhead took line honours for the Open Men with an impressive run leg to beat home Sam Fuller and Hayden Allum.

Sam and Hayden exited the water together 1min down on Mackenzie Hynard. Isak took off after Macca from the get go with Hayden chasing. Macca pulled out with a foot injury midway through the run then Sam over took Hayden late in the run leg to grab 2nd. Isak recorded a time of 1:32:46 a full minute in front of Sam with Hayden coming in 30sec down on Sam.

Naantali Marshall (90's Uncle Tobys competitor) lead through the swim before Liz Pluimers asserted her authority finishing the ski and run legs first to take out Open Women's category.

Liz's time was 1:42:30 (8th overall), Naantali finished a strong 2nd in 1:45 with Emma Armstrong 3rd in 1:48.

Age Group winners were, Jackson Borg U20's and 1st Age Grouper, O35 winner, Andre Dalton and O45 Winner Roger Souter (1:42, 7th overall).

Kendrick Louis swam and paddled with team mate Matt Parnell (runner) finishing off to win the Male Team. Tara Colman, Hannah Minogue and Jake Walsh took out Mixed Teams and Jay Furniss blitz the StepIn short course.

Well done to everyone who competed today and in particular the first timers and interstate competitors. We hope to see you again and it was great to see some of you take home part of raffle loot (over $1,000 worth!)

Also very big thanks to the sponsors all the volunteers that helped out on the day and our camera crew that will be using some of the footage for a future Foxtel segment

Very interesting how the results are coming in. Definitely a core group of Hydrothonlists emerging within Australia.
